Study and Devotional Resources

Bible study groups at First Presbyterian Church (Yellville, Arkansas) are open to and attended by members of the entire community

Bible Study Groups at FPC

One of the interesting things about the FPC Bible study groups is that they are member-organized, and offered to the entire community (not just members). There are several groups, so there is likely a group that will suit your needs:

Men's Bible Study

The Men’s Bible Study is open to all in the community - in fact all are invited! Except for a summer vacation, the group meets each Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm at FPC. It is informal, so come as you are. Everyone is welcome no matter where you are in your Bible journey.

The study is Scripture-based, including both the Old and New Testaments, and examines the Bible as the story of God’s plan of salvation for mankind. The group considers the Scriptures' historical and cultural context during the sessions.

Ladies' Bible Study

The Ladies' Bible Study groups at FPC include over 40 women from 6 different churches in the area, as well as women currently searching in their faith. The winter, spring, summer and fall sessions each focus upon a different topic and vary in length. There are two groups:

The study groups each use a Bible-based, DVD curriculum by Bible scholars such as Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Kay Arthur and Jessica LaGrone. There is usually a small amount of homework associated with each study. During our weekly time together, we share joys & concerns, have homework discussions in small groups and come together as one group to view the DVD.

Sunday Bible Study

The adult Sunday study group uses a video presentation by current, well known authors. After this presentation, the group engages in lively discussion. Youth normally follow a lectionary-based curriculum. They occasionally use videos as a springboard for dicussion of current topics of interest.

Sunday groups meet at 9:15 a.m. at the church, and adjourns in time for Worship.
